TMNT issue one cover…cover

This one is actually almost a year old, I had intended to send it in to the excellent Covered blog.

My love of the Ninja Turtles franchise is no secret… what I was trying to do with this image was explore the idea of giving the Turtles’ more individual body shapes to correspond to their personality. Mike’s fairly heavy set from one too many pizzas, Donny’s a literal egghead, Leo’s athletic build tells of his commitment to his ninja training, while Raph’s been hitting the weights hard…

Very silly, but found it in my sketchbook and thought it might be of interest!

Is it true…

…That once you’ve seen one of my chimpanzee drawings, you’ve in fact seen ’em all?

It is highly possible, but I drew these with the coloured brush pens I got for christmas- so it’s marginally different! “Margin Buu”…

“Great Apes!” on Kuriositas’ Blog

Bit of old news here, but my Degree film “Great Apes!” was featured on the blog Kuriositas last year. It really knocked me out that someone would be provoked to blog about it after I posted it on Vimeo, and as I never submitted the film to any festivals it was thrilling to receive such positive unsolicited feedback on the film!

I felt moved to mention this as Kuriositas just added my film to this list of their favourite videos on vimeo, so if for any reason they find themselves reading this, I just wanted to say cheers for the kind words 🙂

new year’s re-zoo-lutions

Grittings Blog friends- happy new year!

With the new year comes new year’s resolutions, and my main resolution is to have a more productive relationship with t’internet. And as another of my resolutions is to get more drawing in this year I thought I’d restart this blog with some of my first chimpanzee observational sketches in 2 years.

Expect many more of these as I received zoo membership for Christmas 🙂
